THE STUDIO
SKKY Interiors is a full-service Interior Design Firm founded by Cecile Mattei Ekstrom. Our goal is to create stylish, comfortable and timeless homes that truly reflect our clients’ personality and their story while ensuring impeccable and seamless execution.
A home designed by SKKY Interiors exudes a sense of sophistication and old-world grounding combined with a modern eye and a practical solution driven approach to design. SKKY Interiors’ designs integrate clean lines in architecture, efficient space planning, lighting, custom furnishings as well as curated furniture, antiques, art and accessories in order to truly reflect the personality of owners and the magic that comes from the collaboration between designers, collectors, artisans and artists.

THE FOUNDER
Cecile Mattei Ekstrom was born and grew up in France. She has lived in South of France, Paris, London, Hong Kong and moved to New York city over 20 years ago. Together with her husband from Sweden and their two daughters, they now call Westchester home. Cecile’s European sensibility, American practicality and passion for travel is reflected in her designs. She loves finding one-of-a-kind furniture, antiques, amazing textiles and wall coverings, or dazzling lighting fixtures from all over the world to create unique atmosphere in her designs.
Before deciding to turn a life long passion for art and architecture into a career, Cecile studied finance and economics and received her MBA from ESCP Paris. She had a successful career in investment banking and asset management that took her to work for Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan and The Carlyle Group.
In order to embark on the next chapter of her career, she decided to go back to school and graduated from the prestigious New York School of Interior Design (NYSID). She also studied Figurative Painting at the New York Academy of Art, Abstract Painting at the School of Visual Arts and Design and Art History at the Sotheby’s Institute of Art. She is a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).
When she is not designing homes, Cecile can be found cooking and experimenting new restaurants, enjoying nature walks, skiing with her family, reading at the beach with her family, exploring museums, and hunting for treasures at antique stores and galleries. She loves traveling and bringing design inspiration and heavy suitcases back from her trips to France, Sweden and all over the world.
Cecile has worked for a variety of clients in France, New York, the Hamptons, Westchester, Washington DC and Florida.
